Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find a comprehensive list of answers to our customer's most asked questions. Though this list is as exhaustive as possible, we understand that you may still have questions. Please use our contact form to reach out to us and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
How do I know who is the right fit for me?
Fit matters more than almost anything else in this work. We offer a brief consultation call so you can get a feel for our approach, ask questions, and decide whether we might be a good fit. We encourage you to ask whatever is on your mind—there are no “wrong” questions. Feeling seen starts before the first session.
What populations and concerns do you work with?
We welcome children, adolescents, adults, couples, families, and individuals from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. Our services include mental health therapy; clinical supervision and consulting; college planning; and community engagement.
Our areas of experience include, but are not limited to: EMDR and trauma informed care, anxiety related disorders, mood disorders, grief and loss, identity, relationships, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, gun violence prevention, clinical supervision, and certified college admission counseling.
We recognize that healing and growth looks different for everyone. Our goal is to meet you where you are and provide support that honors your individual experiences, needs, and goals.
What services do you offer beyond therapy?
Our practice supports individuals, professionals, and organizations in several ways. In addition to therapy, we offer clinical supervision, college planning, consulting, and community engagement services.
What if I'm not sure what service I need?
That's okay—you don't have to figure it out on your own. Whether you're looking for therapy, clinical supervision, consulting, college planning support, or community engagement, we can talk through what you're looking for and help you identify the service that best fits your needs and goals.
Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
Both! We offer in-person and virtual services depending on the service and your needs. We will work with your availability, because we understand how finding time for yourself can challenging. We strive to make scheduling as seamless and accessible as possible.
What happens after I reach out?
Once you contact us, we'll respond with information about next steps and, when appropriate, schedule a brief consultation. This gives us an opportunity to learn a little about what you're looking for, answer your questions, and determine the best way to move forward.
What can I expect during my first session or consultation?
Your first meeting is an opportunity to talk about what brings you in, what you're hoping to accomplish, and what you need from the service(s) you are seeking. We'll answer your questions, discuss expectations, and begin identifying the best approach for you.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you arrive. We can start wherever you are.
How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?
Session length and frequency depend on the service you're receiving and your individual needs. During your initial consultation or intake, we'll discuss what makes sense for you and establish a schedule that supports your goals.
What are your rates, and do you accept insurance?
We believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care. We offer flexible payment options based on individual circumstances. Please contact us for more information on a personalized session rate; we are happy to explore what feels manageable for you!
Yes, we accept insurance. We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, and Optum insurances. We currently are in the process of becoming credentialed with other insurance companies and anticipate accepting other insurance plans soon. Until then, services are self-pay if we do not accept your insurance and we are happy to explore a manageable session rate. If you have out-of-network benefits, we encourage you to check with your insurance provider about potential reimbursement.
Is everything I share confidential?
Yes, we take your privacy and confidentiality seriously. Information you share with us is kept confidential within the limits required by law and professional ethics. We'll walk through the specifics, including the limits of confidentiality, together during your intake process so you know exactly what to expect.
What is a Good Faith Estimate, and will I receive one?
If you're uninsured or choose not to use insurance for our services, you're entitled to a Good Faith Estimate under the federal No Surprises Act. A Good Faith Estimate provides a written breakdown of expected costs before you begin services.

It's not a bill—it's a transparent look at what you can expect to pay so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Still have questions?
We'd rather you ask than wonder. Reach out anytime. We're happy to talk it through, answer your questions, and help you figure out whether we're the right fit for your journey. You don't have to have it all figured out before you reach out—we can start there, together.
